Issue

In 2013 in the US the changes were made to provide the patient with direct access to their reports. Need to have a mechanism to capture the patient, the patient's advocate, the patient's guardain, and/or the patient's parents request for the report and collect the destination of the report. ONC needs this for this rule making cycle, therefore it would be highly desirable to have it in proposed version 2.8.2 and updated in the LRI IG and LOI IGs.

This needs a fair bit of work. Was discussed on the LRI call, and may no longer be urgent. Consult Hans/Ken regarding appropriate next steps

Resolution

• Oct 7, 2015 - Motion to not accept the proposal and advise to use the existing PRT value of Results Copies To, PRT-5 to identify the person, and as needed use PRT-6 to indicate whether that person is the patient, guardian, parent, etc. To resolve indication to not provide certain information to a specific person, we suggest that for now we should use NTEs.
