Minutes
Minutes/Conclusions Reached:
- Roll Call & Agenda Review
- Approval of previous minutes from 2013-08-29 Tooling Call , AMS moves and Lynn seconds approval. Unanimously approved.
- Dennis joins
- Review action items -
- Lynn will follow up with Andy to include John's post Board retreat comments (Aug 8) in the strategy document and get it signed off; changes have not yet been made. He will work on this for next week.
- Andy to check with John on the Sparx Community site statement before posting
- Other GForge action items updated as available; schedule Thursday Q1 to discuss Tooling Strategy.
- Progress reports:
- PI# 913 HL7 Tooling Challenge - Challenge for 2013/2014 - Discuss two-viewer requirements for tooling challenge with Andy next week. Woody's next steps document reviewed. Item three, on two "viewer" requirements discussed. Viewer is not the EA viewer but the MIF profile once loaded in. EA viewer has standard class diagrams for packages, etc. but not like XMLSpy.
- [ [HL7_Tooling_Challenge#Additional_objectives|Additional Objectives]] from Tooling Challenge wiki page reviewed for point 2 for MIF schemas (meta level) to understand relationships among MIF files and their elements. Lloyd produced a UML model once but may have been in Visio.
- Tree-based viewer is inherent; beyond base EA structures what further refinements would make it easier to understand and view the MIF models. Profile is complete enough to import models that were created in EA. Existing models in Visio created in MIF cannot be brought in with an automatic layout. Would like import of MIF model and seeing class diagram like in Visio. MnM also had some meta-attributes defined for UML models.
- Do we announce the 2013-2014 Tooling Challenge at the WGM but not announce the topic yet? "Specifics to be announced later".
- The other suggestion on a UML tool for an "HL7 RMIM Designer" replacement. Such a tool could have commercial applicability. Andy clarifies that the challenge might be to "evaluate in detail" the UML tool but not necessarily create it - perhaps the winning entry would go out for funded development based on the challenge winner. A detailed proposal and approach for the new RMIM designer would be an appropriate scope for the $4000 prize.
- AMS would be comfortable with using #5 if Woody were on the call to flesh out the challenge. Lynn needs some lead time for the announcement at the WGM. Need to discuss with Woody on next week's call as Andy would prefer to cancel the call on the 19th. Full details of the challenge, judging criteria and so forth could wait for the press release and formal announcement. Andy will reach out to Woody on the next Tooling Challenge for next week's call.
- MnM Hot Topic RMIM_Diagram_Representation can provide background. Pertinent to the discussion is the importance to display attributes within the classes.
- PI# 831 EHR-S FM Profiling Tool - contract has been executed
- PI# 913 HL7 Tooling Challenge - Challenge for 2013/2014 - Discuss two-viewer requirements for tooling challenge with Andy next week. Woody's next steps document reviewed. Item three, on two "viewer" requirements discussed. Viewer is not the EA viewer but the MIF profile once loaded in. EA viewer has standard class diagrams for packages, etc. but not like XMLSpy.
- Update to WGM agenda - AMS conformance tooling discussion on Thurs Q1 instead of Tues.
- Need to cover the slides for the WGM next week prior to WGM if we cancel the 19th. AMS moves cancellation seconded by Lynn. Unanimously approved.
