• FHIR Connectathon - Update

- John Rhoads (JR) participated in the HL7 FHIR Connectathon during the recent Madrid meetings

- Most of the time was spent with Michel & Ewout (Furore) working on profiles / IG that supported one of the DoF FHIR Examples

- Using Furore tools to validate a "bundle" with DeviceComponent and DeviceMetric resulted in significant tool challenges; they represented the most complex logical links encountered by Furore; This exposed a bug with the logical links getting "updated" during process, breaking the references

- Furore will update their tooling perhaps with a new "post mode" to properly process these bundles of resources; given how busy they are, though, this will not happen immediately but in the near future

• WGM FHIR Report

- Thursday Q1 was the joint session with the FHIR Infrastructure group

- TBD: Notes from Chris Courville (Epic) pending / to be provided

- Numerous updates to gForge tracker items were made (and documented there)

- Major topics included ...

- Changing the identifier data element from 1..1 to 0..*

- Proposing a "DeviceProperties" data element; extensible property list in DeviceComponent (0..*)

- Brian added content HERE for what might be contained in the DeviceProperties data element

- Adding DeviceComponent.productionSpec to search; challenge will be searching on subelements - need to follow Best Practices

- PoCD & PHD are also fairly well harmonized at this point - details to be forthcoming

- Need to establish scenarios to drive profiling work
