Introduction
In January 2012, the European Commission proposed a major reform of the EU legal framework on the protection of personal data in the EU (http://ec.europa.eu/justice/newsroom/data-protection/news/120125_en.htm).
Continua is working on a position paper by September 1, 2012. Various European organizations are likely as well. Question is whether HL7 should contribute to any of these efforts, whether HL7 should create its own position paper, or monitor it from the sidelines.
Plan
- Hans to reach out to HL7 Europe and Security WG to create a plan/approach, see what is feasible.
