CIMI Briefing Steve Hufnagel [Integrated Information Model and Tools, CIMI Project Briefing]

  • Conceptual level
  • creating a set of harmonized models so that we have consistency across the models, CIMI, SOLAR, and others that we are working with
  • intent that this will be balloted as ISO and HL7, 5-year progression to informative, DSTU from informative
  • through the magic of technology tolds

Question: Is this US-realm?; NO.

  • recommend to put together a set of core-US realm profiles, label build with US-realm profiles and designated as such...build out from there so that you do not break something during an expantion
  • intention is to maintain consistentency... i.e. as DAF for example is expandanded, the DAF core can be maintained.
    • there have many inconsistency--terminology sets, attributes in Consent; here we can use in two ways
      • tools can point out inconsistenciyes or CDA and FHIR resources
      • as we go forward; if youwant to update, you can create consistent updates to whatever you are doing.
  • CIMI is looking for from CBCC a clinical perspective. Currently work is primarily technical/tooling. We don't want to fall on our sword that makes this not unusable. We want the broadest feedback that we can. We don't want a technical solution that will not follow the clinical perspective.
  • Comment on touchpoints: HL7 Information Model has been incorporated into FHIM--Behavioral Health has been incorporated in IM as we
  • Question: is this being coordinated with FHA new SIGG(?) project;
    • this is listed in the PSS/ note sponsorship in PSS--they have provided input to the technical writeup.

Publication Announcement: HL7 Version 3 Standard: Healthcare (Security and Privacy) Access Control Catalog, Release 3 Healthcare (Security and Privacy) Access Control Catalog is a new standard extending the current normative HL7 Role-based Access Control (RBAC) Permission Catalog standard.
