  • Are these Instruction or Observations?
    • If Instruction use NTE or extend OBR. Better to extend NTE.
    • If Observation alternative then should be an indicator on OBR or an OBX along with the OBR. **There is a concern of providing the same OBX multiple times.

    • Discussion
      • Implementation Guide could clarify specific use pattern.
      • If voted down, need to address general guidance and vocabulary.
    • Against: 5; Abstain: 2; In Favor: 1
  • Motion: Identify a solution that can be documented in the V2.8 standard to give guidance on when to use OBX for these scenarios with proposed vocabulary. Austin Kreisler, Patrick Loyd
    • Discussion:
      • How about dialysis, pregnancy, etc.
      • Concerned with multiple OBX-es.
      • V3 would look like that though.
      • Need rules to keep it easy. Get a medical perspective.
      • Consider changing OBR.14 to CWE/Repeat.
