Meeting minutes from November 18 were unanimously approved.
January 2015 HL7 WGM in San Antonio, TX
- Suzanne is currently working on the agenda template, which has been posted on the CBCC Wiki. She asked WG members to send her any information that they would like to be added to the agenda.
Patient Friendly Natural Language - update
- Rick presented the latest revised version of the spreadsheet showing the Patient Friendly Consent Directive example and, specifically, the purpose of use (POU) portion with vocabulary codes emanating from the HL7 HCS standard.
- WG members reviewed and discussed the POU codes (ActReason POU codes) and came to an agreement that the POU categories should be translated into more patient friendly language.
Action Items
- Rick to rewrite the POU categories in accord with the recommendations made by the WG.
- Suzanne to follow up with Ioana and Serafina on the status of the CDA IG for Privacy Consent Directives.
- [Complete] Rick will meet with Kathleen on Wednesday 11/19 to discuss selectively choosing the purpose of use codes that directly require the patient - not the covered entity - to make choices about how to share personal health information for different purposes.
- Rick and Kathleen will also discuss how to use the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Purposes as the basis for translating the purposes of use into patient friendly language.
