- Virginia suggested that a live webinar for new members be scheduled. Sadhana said would have to be January. Newcomer tutorial status might be on hold due to Melissa no longer member/stepping down from chair since new employer not yet a member.
- Strategic Planning - Education current state
- Sadhana showed the shell of a powerpoint in which she plans to lay out current state my showing educational offerings and statistics for each. She noted how incredibly successful the Fundamentals courses are. Also we discussed that fundamentals is not fundamental enough for some who are really non-technical, and is not enough for the technical and we again considered the idea of an easier beginning class (Mark thought his work was more in that area-we talked about a way to have it used for HL7). Virginia noted success with Case Based Learning at Columbia. We also talked about creation of a more advanced class.
- She then showed a shell with a place for 2018 course list. She explained this is how she plans to plan and wants our help. She emphasized the importance of education for revenue. We discussed partnering for content with educational institutions. Mark expressed some interest. Virginia promised to connect Sadhana with Sue Fenton from University of Texas who has expressed interest in the past.
- Sadhana also noted the importance of the implementer's committee work in developing business plan for HL7 Certification Program.
- Website - concerns were expressed about the usability of the website with respect to education and certification offerings. Sadhana plans to work on it in the "dead" time between meetings.
- Meeting adjourned at about 5:45.
