In working with an implementation og Care Record Query, a question came up.
I'm using the Care Record Profile Query message, and returning a set of results based on some query criteria. MaximumHistoryStatements is described as The number (INT) of repetitions of each type of historical clinical statement (e.g. A1Cs, weight, dispensed medications, etc.) to be returned.
Here's where it might get bit tricky: What is the definition of a "type" of history statement? Based on the explaination, it would seem to be based on the concept descriptor (code) that describes the statement. If that is the case, what is the type of a history statement that has no code (it may not have been coded yet), but may have CD.orginalText? Should the implementer assume that all CDs without codes are: a) identical with regard to type of "history statement" (that seems unlikely, and potentially dangerous), or b) identical if CD.originalText is the same (that seems likely), or c) none of the above (all "untyped" history statements have a unique type (a bit ugly but can be dealt with).
