Discussion on material for DAM

May 2009 old ballot – reviewed content.

Kevin has volunteered to do the modeling for this effort. Can use May 2009 content as basis for UML diagrams.

Issues with 2009 ballot – DMIM/RMIM was out of sync with the written materials. The wording needed to match the updated DMIM and RMIM model. This needs to be done. If the term COND appears these are older materials. New is CONC – the concern tracking, not the event. An event is open for any type of concern event.

In the ballot materials – there is a Health concern topic as well as a Care Structures Topic (has model and stories). Health concern thread – CONC Health concern event - COND

Key Stories

  1. How concerns are related. With pregnancy – you would have multiple events over time. Another pregnancy would be a different concern but be related.
  2. Diabetes – could be a chronic condition. A pneumonia in 2003 and then again in 2014 are different episodes. Need to define episode vs. concern event vs. problem concern. Is episode a concern under active care? Can have a particular concern composed of multiple observations which can be grouped or clustered into episodes under the parent concern.
  3. An episode representation needs further definition. (not in the RIM). Out of scope? Or represented in a health concern thread. Episode is a type of health concern thread. Or go to harmonization.
