'v2.9 Work
The focus of the work group this meeting was to finish up version 2 items that have yet to be completed.
Irma brought up the issue of the A60 which was discussed in an email exchange between Frank Oemig, Irma, Russell Russell McDonell, and Alex. Frank initially pointed out that the message structure as set is not unique/parsable. After looking at the structure, within the latest version (v.2.8.2) both PV1 and PV2 are optional, however an (optional, repeatable) ARV segemt follows. This segment is used to communicate the requested/required type of access restrictuions from system to system and follows the segment(s) to which it refers (e.g., PV1/PV2). To that, Russell suggested merely making the PV1 segment required which then would clarify that the ARV refers to that. Frank then pointed out that this changes the semantics, so, he suggested creating an optional group out of the exisiting PV1/PV2/ARV segments, retaining their optionality/repeatability settings. This seemed reasonable. The WG considered this.
Iryna makes a motion to create an optional “visit” grouping of the PV1/PV2/ARV segments within the A60 trigger to address the inability to parse the message structure as currently set. Alex seconds.
Below is the depiction of the ADT_A60 structure as is in the latest version and the proposed update:

The HL7 v2.8.2 Chapter 3 (Patient Administration) document will be updated with the proposed new message structure for trigger event ADT_A60 for publication of v2.9.
Irma questioned when the deadline is for v2.9 content, since a message was sent out by HL7 HQ that the date had been pushed out. Alex will find out.
Action: Apply the above change to the latest Chapter 3 version (v2.8.2) for v2.9. Responsible: Alex de Leon
