MTM CDA Imp Guide status
This IG is on the May 2014 ballot as HL7 Implementation Guide for CDA® R2: Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Templates, Release 1 – US Realm (CDAR2_IG_MTMTEMP_R1_I2_2014MAY). This IG addresses US CMS (Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services) requirements for patient take-away documents following an MTM Complete Medication Review. Scott R continues to edit the document

Pharmacist/Pharmacy Provider EHR-S Functional Profile - Companion Document status
The Pharmacy HIT Collaborative has produced "HL7 EHR-System for a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Electronic Health Record Implementation Guide for Community Practice." This is a companion to the HL7 Pharmacist/Pharmacy Provider EHR-S Functional Profile. The P/PP Functional Profile was designed to be used in multiple business scenarios, but this resulted in some ambiguity for specific implementation in any one practice type. The companion document addresses these ambiguities specifically to community practice.
The Collaborative offered HL7 the companion document, as-is, to be distributed with the P/PP Function Profile. The document is available on the P/PP Functional Profile page at hl7.org, and noted as "pending endorsement." HL7 endorsement requires an Informative Ballot. The deadline for the 2014MAY ballot was not met, and this will be on the 2014SEPT ballot.

CDA Nutrition
Lisa Nelson distributed an analysis of potential "kinds" of medication profiles which could be present in a CDA document. (Sent to the HL7 Pharmacy list on (received time stamp on my computer) Mon, 10 Mar 2014 13:22:32 -0700 from "Lisa Nelson" <LisaRNelson@cox.net>). Discussion:
- part of Lisa's analysis for the CDA Nutrition work.
- The lists reflect differing intents and perspectives
- Does not suggest that these differentiations currently exit. Should they?
- Lisa shows how these could be differentiated based upon template type, moodCode, and author
- discussion on the "reality" of all of these lists. agreement that there are different types of medication lists
- Suggested that this should be tied into the Pharmacy CDA template review work
- Jose noted that this crosses over into work that IHE Pharmacy is doing.
Action: Scott will send a note to the IHE Pharmacy list on this topic. Asking that both lists be notified if this topic is on any upcoming teleconference agenda.
