Invitation for sept 2007 Implementation Case Studies

From HL7Wiki

On behalf of the Implementation/Conformance TC I am looking for people willing to present at the WGM during the HL7 V3 Implementation Case Studies Session. We are looking for HL7v3 or CDA projects where there is concrete implementation experience to report, with lessons learnt, and advise for those who are not so far down the track.

This is a great opportunity to get feedback on the choices that you made, and to hear from other implementers how they would deal with issues that are still open. These sessions were felt to be valuable in Cologne by both presenters and attendees. They will be even better in Atlanta, as we are allocating a full quarter to each case study, to allow for more discussion and review time.

We are looking for one more Case Study for the Atlanta WGM, but would welcome more proposals so that we can make plans for future WGMs.

We need no more than 45 minutes of presentation, and 45 minutes of discussion/Q+A.

The session that we are looking to fill for the Atlanta WGM is Wednesday q1

Of particular interest are the things that you have had to make project-specific decisions on - version management, oid and vocabulary bindings, infrastructure issues, testing and conformance, more....

This is one session at the WGM that is all about what to do to make implementations work, and only incidentally about how to make the standard better. A couple of general questions to answer in the presentations:

"What are the top things that you know now that you wish you had known when you started / earlier in the process of implementation?".

And

"What top tips do you have for others implementing using version 3 specifications?"
