How should we organize submissions

What taxonomy should we use? There are likely going to be several categories.

Patterns of patterns

Is it safe to assume that some design patterns are going to be composed of other design patterns. E.g. EN, AD and HIST<T> all use a common design pattern (as do collections and the mixins). As we get into this, we are likely going to run into more of these cases where a given pattern is used for different classes of uses. We probably need some guidance how to name these, and, in particular, how to recognize these.

That was the real power of the GoF. They helped people realize when they were doing something that had a "generic" solution. It wasn't that they told people how to solve that generic solution--people have always been good at that, it was giving them names and some criteria you could use to realize when you were re-inventing the wheel. --Kcoonan 06:59, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
