Agenda

Administrivia

  • Agenda review
  • Review notes from 20140902_US_Realm_TF_Call
  • Dependency issue between the C-CDA Release 2 IG Project Insight #1014 and the HL7 CDA R2: National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, R1 - US Realm IG (NAMCS IG) at Project Insight #1002 from the PHER work group
    • The options we appear to have include:
      1. Publishing both IG’s in their current incomplete form and release Errata’s for both at a later date once the C-CDA terminology issues are resolved
      2. Publish only the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey CDA IG immediately and issue an Errata once C-CDA R2 is finally published
      3. Publish both only when C-CDA R2 is finally ready (PHER will likely lose the resources needed to update the IG if this happens after the middle of September)
      4. Apply US Realm or ONC resources to accelerate LOINC code assignment for the C-CDA R2 IG so both can be published quickly before PHER loses its resources for their IG.
  • Review project portfolio (John Feikema)

Discussion:

  • Review of any outstanding issues

  • Agenda review
    • Hetty describes the issue for PHER. They hope to publish by next Weds when contractual support ends but they depend on CCDA R2.
    • Austin adds that CCDA R2 has also not yet passed ballot by the numbers in addition to waiting on LOINC assignments from Regenstreif. Keith notes that some of the negative voters were waiting to see what the updated draft looks like; Austin responds that the draft is available. Ergo none of the options that include publishing CCDA R2 will work. The only realistic option is number 2 but would be unpopular with ONC. Ed asks what a realistic time estimate would be for the CCDA IG.
    • Hetty asks what templates in CCDA R2 affect their IG? Austin suggests their team identify the dependencies and whether they will be subject to change. Some of the negative votes may require revision of the reconciliation.
    • Ed suggests approaching Clem and others from Regenstrief to accelerate the LOINC code assignment.
    • Keith adds that if ONC finds this important to complete they may have to contribute resources to complete the IG after the existing contract expires.
    • Is the US Realm Task Force in a position to help it accelerate? Ed is willing to do that piece of it.
    • Lorraine asks how comfortable they are publishing an IG in DSTU with notes of what is subject to change? And how comfortable are they with a future effort to update with an errata or bring the DSTU to normative. There are also resources involved during the DSTU phase.
    • Ed summarizes that we need to address this next week in person while accelerating the LOINC assignment process and evaluating the dependencies with CCDA R2, and ensure we have the right resources in the discussion at the F2F.
    • Hetty notes that after the 17th next week they won't have the resource to publish. Is PHER able to provide support going forward? The WG could likely support. They also have several testers lined up willing to do testing once the DSTU is published. She will send the evaluation of the dependencies to Austin and Lynn to distribute to the US Realm TF. She can find the most recent draft version of the CCDA in members only section of SDWG documents page.
  • Review project portfolio (John Feikema)
    • No updates yet but may have minimal changes to two slides and will send updated version to Lynn for distribution
    • Keith asks Feik about the contractor schedules. He notes there are statutory limitations on the contractor availability. Keith asks if he will provide this feedback as an issue for their consideration.
