Problem Statement

The contents of these three tables were define in Version 2.4 as SUGGESTION There have NEVER been ANY values enumerated in the Standard for these three tables.

Recommendation

The following motion is hereby made:

• Whereas HL7 Tables 452 Health Care Provider Type Code,453 Health Care Provider Classification and 454 Health Care Provider Area of Specialization have had only suggested content since introduced in Version 2.4
• And whereas these tables only contain suggested values
• Be it therefore resolved that
  • HL7 Table 452 Health Care Provider Type Code,
  • HL7 Table 453 Health Care Provider Classification and
  • HL7 Table 454 Health Care Provider Area of Specialization
• be changed to
  • User Defined Table 452 Health Care Provider Type Code,
  • User Defined 453 Health Care Provider Classification and
  • User Defined 454 Health Care Provider Area of Specialization
• And further be it resolved that this change be applied to HL7 Version 2.9.
