Scope of coverage

An instance of ObservationDefinition represents the definitional aspects of a kind of observation attached to an orderable service. In particular, this type of resource is used in a catalog of orderable services, and contributes to the definition of the services of this catalog, by providing the descriptions of observations, which are expected as input when ordering the service, as well as observations which are produced by the execution of the service and reported in its output.

This kind of observation may be produced by any discipline.
