  • Shannon Labout - Consultant
  • Organizational Support Steering Division Co-Chair Vote (Virginia Lorenzi)
  • General Introduction to HL7 and HL7 Standards - HL7 Italy
  • FHIR Experience - Finalize Syllabus - Marketing Plans.

Attendees

John Ritter, Fernando Campos, Diego Kaminker, Sadhana Alangar, Brian Ahier, Virginia Lorenzi (scribe)

Shannon Labout=

  • Sadhana noted that Shannon is a consultant helping to evaluate education and has been talking to various people.

OSS Division Co-chair Vote=

  • Virginia explained that we are still participating in this steering division although since we are a committee, its optional. The main purpose to participate is to improve communication and get assistance in navigating the organization. Unanimously voted for Pete Gilbert as OSS rep to TSC. Not sure if EAC even has a vote however (later learned we do not, since we switched to an AC)

Status from Sadhana

  • Webinars are doing much better and we have met the required number of attendees for FHIR Fundamentals.
  • There appears to be an issue with email blasts getting to HL7 members due to spam filters. Virginia seems never to get them, for example. Talked about creating an HL7 event list serve and/or sending HL7 education event announcements to HL7 listservers - these would get past spam filters since person subscribed.

HL7 Italy wants general HL7 Standards course

  • Recommended Standards for Interoperability. Check affiliate agreement - they most likely have free access if the event is connected to affiliate.

FHIR Experience - Finalize Syllabus - Marketing Plans

  • Sadhana's main concern is being able to market the training program and explain what it is. We recommended focusing on what is in the blurb Virginia had written. We also talked about marketing the FHIR Experience and other HL7 education programs. Brian Ahier joined the call to add his input.
  • FHIR twitter game - Matt had recommended - decided this was better during the event. Also want to make sure we have photos taken of FHIR experience and other educational events.
  • HL7 education teaser tweets - Diego resent Virginia's initial ideas. Need to work on.
  • Brian noted that linkedin is effective because you know them. He recommended including images and gif/video. Said image/gif makes a big difference.
  • Virginia recommended doing one around Promoting Interoperability and related HL7 standards training.
  • Diego to do a write up on HL7 Fundamentals that we can use on linkedin.
  • Can also post to HL7 discussion group, like HIMSS.
  • Important for tweets/linkedin posts to go out via HL7 international, HL7 volunteers can retweet or share.
