Agenda

  • Agenda Review for week
  • Housekeeping
  • HL7 over HTTP

Intro

  • DN did intros and reviewed the agenda for the quarter and the week

There was a discussion on the delays in producing the HL7 over HTTP ballot. DN and AS would work to ensure that it is done in the upcoming cycle

The R2B work was shifted from Mon Q2 to Wed Q1 to accommodate FHIR joining ITS on Monday Q2

The moving of FHIR to Monday Q2 from Monday Q3 was discussed and AS described the reasons for leaving the Web Services project discussion in Q2.

The agenda for the week was reviewed and revised on the Wiki

AS reviewed the current work group health from HQ. There was discussion about the declining number of projects and the future of the work group. There was a follow-on discussion about future work items that would be added to ITS.

The group then reviewed the items for discussion in the joint FHIR sessions during the week

Agenda

  1. Web Services Project Continuation
  2. FHIR Discussions

Web Services Project

Motion: Cancel the current Web Services project AS/BP 19-0-2 Josh and Justin abstain

EK gave overview of the include difficulties with the _include and how it was intended and the difficulties in both of the reference server implementations. The first thought was that the focus for an include specification must always be to a 'Resource boundary'. The caused discussion when a class in a resource was recursive (either self or part-of). A suggestion was to review how this is described in WebDAV for queries.

The first discussion surrounded the need to specify includes in recursions. The decision was to expand the syntax The second discussion was around depth of resolution of includes across resource boundaries Third was discussion around how this is specified in the conformance

EK then went into discussion on the issues around the deletion of tags

Q4

Agenda

  1. FHIR Discussions
    1. Handling Canonical Units for Searching
    2. FHIR Methodology
    3. Deleting Tags within a Body

LM provided an overview of the difficulties arising in translation of units where doing queries against Observation. The discussion was centred around conversions between units. The group examined Observation and Conformance resources for background and information on the issue. There was a side discussion on what parts of the spec were 'open' versus fixed. The group then focused on the Conformance resource to work on the mechanism for specifying conversion. The group consensus was that the appropriate point for designating that conversion occurs was in the SearchParam class, further there was four levels of 'conversion'. The group was also comfortable with the idea that conversions where described 'lightly', that is to say the conversion specification in the conformance may not be fully 'machine processable' and require reading or further textual description.

Motion: Accept the additional syntax for specifying the code system and code on the search parameter for Quantities and include conversion specification in the conformance SearchParam class with four codes of none, system, translation, and other in an attribute called conversion and an attribute called conversionSystems that enumerates the various codes systems. 2. FHIR Discussion review

R2B Document update and Review: AS is still working on the generation of the RSB document so that the final changes can be applied, will be held over until the next teleconference.

FHIR Discussion Review: DN and AS updated PK on the FHIR discussion that had occurred on the previous two days. PK was interested in the resolution to Batch submissions discussed in the InM/FHIR/ITS quarter on Tuesday. PK thought the solution may not be optimal but would try it and see if it could be used. There was further review of the atom schemas used in FHIR and it was thought some inconsistencies where detected. DN sent a note to the FHIR Core team to highlight the findings.
