The International HL7 Interoperability Conference (IHIC) is an annual meeting event which focuses on the exchange of international experiences with the implementation of the Health Level 7 standards. Known until 2005 as the International Affiliates Meeting, IHIC - in contrast to regular HL7 Working Group Meetings - does not involve work on the HL7 Standards, but provides a forum for implementers of the HL7 Standards.

Since 2011, presentations at IHIC conferences can be awarded with the Joachim W. Dudeck Award. This award recognizes young scientists who have accomplished extraordinary achievements in the development and implementation of HL7-based interoperability solutions and have promoted the use of HL7 and its harmonization with other standards.
