JSON comments discussion:

Should comments be preserved in JSON content model?

Problematic in production systems. Spec says that they can be ignored, an/or systems may reject the content, but 2 issues: 1) Every JSON element must be inspected to see if it is a comment, in order to either ignore or reject. This involves much unnecessary overhead, especially in a production system. 2) Simply ignoring a comment has potential liability concerns - better to reject the instance if a comment appears.

Lots of discussion; general feeling in room was that production systems do not want comments period.
