The HL7V3 R2 abstract datatypes ideally would be aligned with the ISO datatypes.
All v3 artefacts based on RIM version 2.27 and above use these datatypes. National projects such as the UK NHS "Logical Record Architecture" uses these and CDA R3 use these as well.
