The content as defined for a particular Domain within the HL7 organization, which is transported as part of the HL7 Message Wrappers.
It is the primary domain content of the messaging interaction (when it is present). It contains domain specific content that is specified by an HL7 technical committee to satisfy a use case driven requirement for an HL7 messaging interaction.
If an interaction contains HL7 Domain Content, then it also contains the wrappers as per its Composite Message Type definition.
Example: for the Laboratory Domain, which describes the workflow processes and information exchange required to support laboratory processes, the Domain Content consists of Message Types such as a laboratory result or a laboratory order.
