CLOSED Request to have a Topic level Diagram Thumbnail
The purpose of a Diagram Thumbnail (other than an RMIM or DMIM diagram) is to:
- refine a larger D-MIM to a particular topic
- encapsulate part of a larger D-MIM for readability
- provide different "views" on a larger D-MIM
This is supported from a methodology perspective (MIF 2.0), as well as from past MnM discussions.
Action: Is for publishing to provide the capability to automatically set up thumbnails for a Topic level Diagram.
Response: The request is closed because it is almost fully addressed by the Publishing and Linking Thumbnail Graphics page. Note that the response is not restricted to any particular level of use, which exceeds the request. However, the method requires the user to create their own thumbnail, rather than have it automatically generated, which falls short of the request. The auto-generation of RMIM thumbnails is part of the Visio RMIM Designer code, and cannot be easily generalized.
