Submitted date: 08 March 2005 Change request ID: CSCR-021

(Copied from HL7 Website Meeting Minutes and original Change Request)

Issue

Attributes of Act Relationships that use the BL data type have inconsistent cardinalities and conformance requirements.

Recommendation

All Act Relationship attributes of BL data type should have cardinality [1..1] and conformance Mandatory. The following should be amended:

  • Organizer.component.contextConductionInd
  • Organizer.component.seperatableInd
  • Observation.referenceRange.contextConductionInd
  • ActChoice.conditions.contextConductionInd
  • ObservationRange.precondition.contextConductionInd
  • Criterion.precondition.contextConductionInd

Rationale

These attributes are included to ensure the quality of the clinical information being communicated. There is therefore little value in not requiring them to be included in the message instance.

Discussion

20 April 2005

  • Discussion about whether seperatableInd should be included
  • Decided to leave motion as submitted

Resolution

Motion (First, second): as submitted

  • Against: 0; Abstain: 4; In Favor: 4
