- Arden Syntax v2.10: This is the latest version of the Arden Syntax standard, published in 2014, updating v2.9 to make the XML version of Arden a normative option and to provide a normative alternative to the curly braces for data references using the vMR. Reaching its ANSI 5-year anniversary in October, 2019, this standard will undergo a reaffirmation ballot in 2019.
- Arden Syntax v3: The planned successor to v2.10, this update will include support for use of a standard data model, formalisms for representation of business processes and context regarding harmonization with other clinical knowledge representation standards. Because the standard data model will focus on FHIR, publication of this new version will depend on progress in creation of a normative version of FHIR.
- Arden Syntax Implementation Guide Release 1: This provides recommendations and exemplars regarding how to use the Arden Syntax to deliver clinical decision support in specific situations.
- Arden Syntax IG R2: This revised version of the original implementation guide release 1 adds chapters on comparison of knowledge formats and use of different data models. This is the latest version of the Arden Syntax IG, and it will be published formally early in 2019.
- Arden Syntax IG R3: This revised version of the implementation guide release 2 adds two chapters: Standard data models and data access as well as business process representation. This is under development, with the ballot scheduled for September, 2019 and publication late in 2019.
- CDS Big Picture IG: This implementation guide will provide advice regarding how to use and combine standards to implement clinical decision support solutions, including the Arden Syntax.
