Meeting Minutes DRAFT

Meeting minutes for April 1, 2014 approved by WG

Mike showing thesaurus.com website

  • looking at CRUDEA - create, read, update, delete synonyms are reasonably orthogonal with each other (fairly pure in the thesaurus.)
  • in searching for some of the more arguemental words, why can't we accept some sort of thesaurus like this--this way we could eliminate some of the discussion.
    • update - had some interesting twists to it.
  • Kathleen - there has been some work already done in HL7; we may not want to delve too deep into this
  • Mike - would like to get out of the vocabulary business

Mike - we are looking to define a process for terms, placing them in an ontology in the propoer place i.e.,

  1. identify a term
  2. write a definitions (for EHR, Security...similar to the RBAC)
  3. harmonize the conflict
  4. place in the ontology
  5. establish in the parent-child relationships
  6. do the next term

lists steps, list inputs/outcomes in a repeatable process way where we will get the same answer again.

Scope Statement for Patient Natural Language - tabled

Scope Statement for Provenance

  • first meeting on the 10th, Thursday at 12Noon ET
  • has applicability in HL7, FHIR resources
  • ONC has asked HL7 to create a provenance IG (similar to DS4P IG)
    • goal date is for September 2014 ballot
  • ONC plans to provide for some resources to help us in this process(CBCC primary, Security co-sponsor)
    • if they have any ability to make changes for MU, they have to have this standard in place, to have it available in Oct, regarding provenance and reference this IG
  • in order to follow the process in HL7, have
  • ACTION: Draft Scope statement, get approval
    • Johnathan has clear ideas on what needs to go into the scope statement
    • Security will be participating and trying to see how that fits within the FHIR activities

ACTION: Mike to send e-mail to Johnathan to attend next meetings; Johnathan will be leading this project and should be listed as so in the scope statement.

FHIR

  • idea from Ken Rubin (on co-chair list)
  • looking for nominations for proposals for the Discovery Day for FHIR/SOA
    • we have a relationship because of the SLS and we have done some demonstrations.
    • Mike has an idea that Duane come in and make a proposal for presentation where he would create connect-the-dots between SLS, FHIR and SOA
    • since security meets regularly on Tuesday, we would have a representative present
  • another option would be a Provenance piece; ideas for a provenance service that could be part of an SOA architectures. i.e. diagnosis
