Minutes

Ed convenes at 1:02 PM

  • Agenda review - no comments
  • Any comments on Project Portfolio? Internal review 8/19 and 8/21. US Realm TF could review on the 26th.
  • Review notes from 2014722_US_Realm_TF_Call
  • Project approvals
    • DSS IG - no representative available
  • *Patient Care backed off the US Realm component of the project - strike from the list.
  • Other projects for discussion:
  • Austin suggests we conduct these approvals by e-vote as they seem to be routine.
    • Will still have next week's call for discussion of project approval process.
    • Set process for e-vote and cancel call
  • Marc addresses the Clinical Quality Information Models
    • Austin asks about the intended product being CDA. An updated version should have indicated the product is a logical model. Marc notes an updated version should have been sent to Lynn a couple weeks ago. There is one project for the FHIR projects but two for the logical model. CQI WG call discussed a few weeks ago and the cochairs intended to contact HQ about it. Lynn will check with DESD on the latest version submitted for approval and the status of this PSS and clear up the confusion.
    • Arden Syntax IG reviewed with Peter joining the call
      • UV realm spec adding US Realm stuff; what is their intent? Project scope indicates the work is in response to Health eDecisions work in the HL7 US Realm. Peter notes that one goal of the IG was to demonstrate how Arden Syntax could be associated with different standardized data representation e.g. Health eDecisions, vMR, and other CQI initiatives. Austin notes if the scope remains UV then this should be supplementary material that indicates audience of US Realm. Peter notes the goal is not to specialize the IG for the US Realm but to include examples that include that particular set of data standards. Most of the existing examples do not call out a specific realm or data model. Austin asks that they add a short description to include that they are adding US Realm examples.
      • Modified scope statement proposed.
      • Paul asks about other work in artifact representation and exchange which has concluded that Arden and other syntactical languages are insufficient for their purpose. Peter reports he has not seen this analysis. Lynn will forward the KAS Research History document to Peter, that was used to review the Clinical Quality Expression Language at Project Insight 1108 by US Realm TF on 7/8/2014. Marc notes that Arden is not well used for non-developers. Paul would like to see a minimum number of variants created.
      • Paul moves and Austin seconds approval. Unanimously approved.
