FHIM S&P Modeling Project
- Galen has not been available the last two weeks to discuss comments that Kathleen has made about the Provenance FHIR resource. They previously agreed that concepts have been mixed together.
- Suzanne said work is ongoing to expand some of the definitions that were found in the model. Some of the definitions need to be cleaned up; once that is accomplished, the definitions will be sent to Galen to add into the model.
- Suzanne added that she'll take the spreadsheet that Galen gave her and discuss the definitions with the group before sending the spreadsheet back to Galen.
Vocabulary Alignment Project - Diana
- Diana and the EHR Interoperability WG remain in discussions on how the EHR definition of "originate" fits with the security definition of "create." They also continue to find areas of commonality between security terms and EHR terms relating to how data is handled before it has been fully committed to the system. According to Reed Gelzer, this type of data is "ephemeral data."
FHIR Data Provenance Ownership
- Lloyd explained that this specific FHIR resource was initially assigned to the FHIR core team because Security didn't feel that it was ready to take on the maintenance of it. He’s not sure if ownership has actually transitioned from FHIR core to Security, and advised that Security will need to have a PSS in place covering a FHIR resource profile (this would not require a separate project, but would require a PSS covering the FHIR stuff).
- Mike asked if we had resources to complete the work on the project if Security were to assume ownership.
- John M volunteered that he would be a willing and able resource.
- Lloyd stated that the amount of work that’s involved in maintaining a resource once it’s developed is handling ballot reconciliation dealing with a resource and handling the tracking of items related to the resource.
