Gora motioned, John seconded, Caroline abstained.
- Education Web Page Facelift Update - FAQ Discussion
Sadhana reviewed the new website ideas which included certification moved up as a primary link from home. Separate training types were nicely separated out. Found the term onsite training confusing. Gora recommended "Corporate Group Training" which the committee thought was more descriptive. Caroline recommended that a site flow diagram also be provided for us to review and provide further guidance. Recommended that a way to sign up for event notifications be provided on the education website. In general, very good feedback from committee on the new website plans. Sadhana also asked us to review FAQs. The group decided this should be deferred until the website is updated since that would impact the FAQ content. Caroline volunteered to review the website design further.
- Discussion about marketing
Emails are not coming to some people, especially those working for providers, due to firewalls. Recommended using HL7 list servers to send events. Recommended creating new HL7 Education LinkedIn Page, linked to from HL7 LinkedIn page.
- September WGM Timeline
Sadhana asked about a recommended timeline for speakers giving tutorials at a WGM - need to send in forms, then send in slide deck. Ed Committee recommended that she ask Mary Ann/ follow timeline from past.
- Veterans Administration GI Bill Certificate Exam Approval Process
Sadhana explained that veterans have the opportunity to get free education. We might be able to get our education programs and certification approved. Need to fill out application - Sadhana created an initial draft and asked for feedback. John expressed concern about having a prerequsite that training only be able to be delivered by HL7. Virginia promised to provide feedback.
- Hot Topics as a way of recruiting speakers
John suggested that we do a call for speakers for hot topics class. Noted that we had not run the class the last few WGMs since it was canceled in January 2018. John noted that he thought it was a good class and good way to figure out new topics and speakers. Virginia agreed that this was a way she was able to determine possible future speakers and topics.
