Quality Reporting Document Architecture Category 1
The Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) project is developing a standard for communicating health care quality measurement information. The standard will conform to the requirements of the Health Level Seven (HL7) Clinical Document Architecture Release 2.0 (CDA) and will reuse the templates developed for the ASTM/HL7 Continuity of Care Document (CCD) and other CDA implementation guides. The project started in 2007 with a private collaboration supported by the Alliance for Pediatric Quality (Alliance) – a joint effort of the American Academy of Pediatrics, The American Board of Pediatrics, Child Health Corporation of America, and the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions. The report on that Phase I effort can be found here: QRDA Phase 1 Report
The Phase II effort is an HL7 project under the Structured Documents TC and the Pediatric Data Standards SIG. It is supported by volunteer efforts and the Child Health Corporation of America which is exploring the collection of quality measure data directly from Owner Hospital electronic medical record systems. As such, CHCA is interested in the use of data standards to reduce the technical resources that would be required from CHCA and its Owner Hospitals to support an ongoing program of measure data collection. The QRDA project meets regularly and all are welcome to participate. Please contact one of the core group listed here or any of the participants listed in the minutes.
