RnP Tuesday, October 25
Attendees: David Tao, Didi Davis (Sequoia Project)
David updated Didi on status of RnP (content nearing completion, NIB submitted, ballot starting in December). Didi said the timing is very good, because she wants to point to this document as part of the Sequoia Project's Content Testing Program, which will be used by both eHealth Exchange and CareQuality.
I pointed out that RnP is not a normative, but informative, document, and doesn't contain formalize conformance statements. Each of the recommendations can be considered a "SHOULD" statement (e.g., include the patient story in Hospital Course, History of Present Illness, etc.). Nevertheless, Sequoia can choose to create conformance statements for their testing, based on these recommendations.
Didi said that the Content Testing is intended to address many of the "pain points" that they are aware of, including document metadata and C-CDA content.
She will publish links to RnP for Sequoia coordinating committee and testing committee comment within the next week, knowing that it is still evolving and will undergo formal balloting.
