DEFINITION: A set or series of interactions and processes, often forming a network, which biologists have found useful to group together for organizational, historic, biophysical, or other reasons.

Comment Requested: In interest of re-using existing standards, should the above definition of Pathway be replaced by the following from the NLM - A series of actions among molecules in a cell that leads to a certain product or a change in a cell. Such a pathway can trigger the assembly of new molecules, such as a fat or protein. Pathways can also turn genes on and off, or spur a cell to move. [Source: http://www.genome.gov/27530687]
