Structure of main page
Should the main page list the project and TC pages ? Or a list of high level (category) subjects ?
I believe the TC pages are necessary. Projects can be under their sponsoring TC. However, I've heard that it's possible to have different table of content listings for the same page. That would be useful. Robert Grant
Agree that TC/SIG names as "entry points" for topics are useful. With regard to projects: as long as they have a wider scope than just one TC/SIG, then they'd have to be listed as well. One can always use the search option of the Wiki, but for those that are "hierarchically inclined" some kind of implied hierarchy is probably useful. Rene spronk 06:11, 13 Jan 2006 (CST)
I like the way MnM has highlighted one of its projects on the main page. Very useful as a 'call-out' when the subject matter is new or topical and the TC wants to make navigation easier. The project link could be dropped from the main page link later on, or replaced with another, more current subject. This would be a good way of keeping the project listing down to a reasonable size and aid with navigation.Robert grant 01:23, 15 Jan 2006 (CST)
