This page is a placeholder until such time as official content can be approved by the Vocabulary committee

  • Code systems should not use Homonymy (i.e. each code string should correspond to only one concept)
  • When a code has been retired it must not ever be re-used for a different concept
  • Concepts must retain their core meaning throughout all versions of a code system
