Introduction
This is the fourth year that Clinicians-on-FHIR events are being hosted at HL7 International Workgroup meetings since the first event Chicago, September 2014.
This event has successfully attracted significant participants and contributions from clinicians and health informaticists. The September 2016 event registered close to 50 participants spread across a number of tracks:
- - Allergy/Intolerance
- - Care Plan
- - Clinical Documentation
- - Diagnostic Request
- - Family History
- - Medications
Valuable inputs are continuously being collected during and after each Clinician on FHIR event. They contribute towards achieving the following objectives:
- to identify any issues arising from clinical use of FHIR resources tested - to provide recommendations to enhance/improve the FHIR resources tested leading to
- - improvement of the accuracy, validity and usability of FHIR resources
- to identify lessons learnt such that future FHIR resources development methodology and processes may be improved
NOTE - while the key focus of the Clinician-on-FHIR event is on FHIR clinical resources, other resources (e.g. administrative resources) will also be tested and evaluated with feedback being provided to improve these resources as well
Three Clinicians-on-FHIR events are being planned for the 2017 WGMs.
