SAIF Implementation Guide for Immunizations PSS

  • The project team has not determined a new title yet.
  • The project team has contacted Patient Care about the PSS.
  • History of PSS: Alean and Steve Hufnagel began thinking about this work at the Sept. 2011 WGM (San Diego). They knew of a SAIF IG for Pharmacy project existed, and knew that one for Immunization would be useful.
  • Austin: The scope and PSS is fine. Just the title needs to change.
  • The PSS indicates that they want to follow the SAIF methodology.
  • Suggestion: Services Architecture for Immunization.
  • Jane: The PSS wants to acknowledge that they’re following SAIF for the Immunization work.

  • Basically the scope of the project is to create an IG for Immunization and the project will utilize SAIF to develop this artifact.
  • Austin: An additional deliverable besides the IG will be feedback to MnM regarding any artifacts and governance.
  • Also add a dependancy of 763-SAIF IG and 828 – Risk Assessment and Governance
  • MnM has a regular weekly call on Friday afternoons to discuss artifact definitions. Perhaps the Immunization project team could attend that call.
  • At the WGM, there is a SAIF Pilot Coordination meeting Q4 Wednesday.
  • Jane: Alean may want to get on an MnM agenda to ask questions that they may have.

Review Discussion Page for SAIF Critical Success Factors

  • Jane: We should probably change our strategy on the review and have the TSC weigh in before we get very far down the line. Hence, add an item to the Saturday TSC meeting in San Antonio (Jan. 2012) for 30 minutes.
  • Rick emailed his feedback: I looked through the web page for the governance and thought the items were good. I think the next step is trying to determine the metrics to measure and prove that the governance and the SAIF processes actually improved things. Is that the next step?

Status of Risk Assessment and Governance for SAIF AP PSS

  • The TSC approved this PSS.

CDA R3 Coordination Updates

  • Rick: Dave and I met with Austin and the CDA group to talk about R3 pilot coordination issues. I have updated our schedule with some notes - mostly that we need to meet with CDA, OO and Pharmacy at the Jan. WGM if at all possible to discuss various touchpoints between projects. Austin was skeptical that there would be time with OO since they were already booked.

The group agreed that we should cancel next week’s call (November 29th) given it’s a short holiday week in the U.S. The next call will be December 13th.
