A Sender is an ambigous term which may indicate:
- the sending Application Role for an Interaction. It is a application layer entity that implements business rules according to the HL7 application role definition.
- the HL7 Application that prepares the HL7 message and sends it to the Receiver. The Sender lives in the Application layer and embeds the Messaging Adapters for interfacing with the specific Messaging Infrastructure.
