Review of prior minutes: Fernando Campos proposed, and Matt Blackmon seconded. Motion carried unanimously.

Jan 2018 WGM Tutorial Evaluation Data

• Low participation rate is still a concern. Diego proposed that incentives be offered for participating in surveys. There was a discussion on whether surveys could be anonymous if incentives are offered. There may be a perception among tutorial attendees that their feedback may not be anonymous. No definite action was taken regarding this item.
• Fernando and Diego wondered why certificates of completion were not given to participants at WGM tutorials. Sadhana agreed to discuss this with staff.

Follow up: Sadhana discussed this with staff who were favorable to the idea of giving certificates to tutorial participants. There are certain complications though – for example an individual may sign up and not attend. Sadhana has been tasked to come up with a process to give out certificates.

May & September 2018 WGMs

• The following problems were discussed in completing a tutorial grid:
• 1 New courses: SME may not necessarily have the teaching experience or know how to write a tutorial description or learning objectives
• 2 There may be a problem in planning too early – subject may change and the tutorial grid may be outdated.

Virtual Classroom Training versus On-site Training

• HL7 web site does not contain a value proposition. What is the advantage of on-site training versus online training? Many suggestions were made – however, Sadhana remained dissatisfied with the explanations given. This matter will be explored further in the future.

Student Scholarships

• The group was in favor of this idea.
