The Business Analyst is knowledgeable about the interoperability needs of a certain domain and the systems that are involved. The analyst must have knowledge of business processes and how those business processes are automated through the use of integrated systems. The Business Analyst and the Domain Expert are expected to collaborate in analyzing the information shared and business process needed to fulfill the requirements of the project.
