Introduction
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) of the US Federal Government is issueing a proposed rule to define governance for the Nationwide Health Interchange Network (NwHIN). This may contain statements that HL7 may wish to respond to.

ONC decided in September not to progress with NwHIN Governance as discussed for now. This does not mean there will not be governance, but certification, governance bodies, etc. are on hold. Our feedback and industry feedback at large helped them come to this conclusion.
