This page is to record the ideas to create a tooling project to participate in the Government Challenge initiative - see examples under Health at: Government Challenge

Take a look at some of the challenges under healthcare as an example. We need

  • A brief history of the challenge (eg. how we got to MIF)
    • Requirements for MIF[1]
  • a description of the challenge - we haven't decided yet - these ideas are being discussed
    • Produce a UML Profile for MIF Static Models
    • Produce a MIF to XMI transform consistent with a current UML Profile
    • Produce a viewer that can browse MIF schemas (Meta level) that make it easier to understand the MIF
    • Produce a viewer that can browse MIF based models (model level)
    • Produce a viewer that can browse instances from MIF based models (instance level)
  • Criteria on which the submissions will be judged (eg. demonstrates transformation of instances MIF schema to XMI plus UML profile).
  • When would the submissions be due - need to be realistic how long a challenge might take

Please put your suggestions on this page - the Tooling WG will review suggestions on the Tooling call Dec. 22.
