Strategic Plan

Consensus on the basis for M&M Strategic Plan was agreed to as follows:

Major Projects/tasks

• HDF -- Target dates ??
• Core Principles - target finish by May2009
• CMETs - will continue as an episodic, on-going project seeking one release per year. The next Project Proposal is due in September
• Harmonization of RIM & Vocabulary - an ongoing project with 3 cycles/yr. Joint with Vocabulary
• RIM - Foresee a future annual ballot to complete in Sept for inclusion in following year's Normative Edition. Initial proposal 9/08 for 2009 finish
• Hot Topics - Ongoing capture, review, resolution of issues around methodology - joint with Vocab and I&M
• NEW - Revise and Maintain Facilitator's Guide - Process and Procedures - Joint with Vocab & Publishing (new)
• NEW - Design a process and responsibilities related to the review/publication/maintenance of design patterns

SWOT

Strengths

• Active members with strong knowledge of Methodology and its foundations
• Active members with a passion for a functional methodology
• Solid foundation in RIM and Methodology

Weaknesses

• Inadequate documentation of some of Methodology & Processes
• Many Too few active participants
• Lack of bandwidth to train new participants and Facilitators

Opportunities

• Opening for outreach and collaboration with "non-messaging" V3
• Need for Harmonization of Vocabulary, etc. in SDO summits
  • (JWGCDM-redux)
• Chance to improve collaboration with I&M and Vocabulary

Threats

• Losing credibility due to inability to respond to key issues in timely fashion
• Chance that reorganization of responsibilities of core committees might disrupt current goals and activities

BEELER volunteered to complete a draft of Strategic Plan
