  • Weekly CIMI call schedule
    • No call next two weeks because of the HL7 CIMI Tooling Connectathon and then the HL7 WGM
    • Stan arrives Sunday morning in San Diego
  • Meeting days for San Diego WGM
    • We have reserved rooms to meet Sunday thru Thursday, either alone or jointly
    • September Tooling pre-meeting in San Diego
      • CIMI Tooling Connectathon hosted by Claude at Cognitive Systems starting Wednesday Sept 6-8
      • Hands on meeting, doing actual coding
    • We will also plan to use Sunday for a cram-session
    • Monday Q3, at least one co-chair with meeting with the EHR WG for their regular Monday “Mega Report-Out”
    • Thursday Q4 – with O&O about observation modeling
  • The VANGUARD project – Kevin Baskin
    • MDEpiNet – joint public and private initiative around device information
    • Subprojects - RAPID, BUILD & AUDI, VANGUARD
    • Congress mandated NEST – standardization across registries
    • There is already a device and patient care to create a domain analysis model
    • There are 3 pilot projects that are in progress – around 40 data elements
    • May be some resources between NEST and/or MDEpiNet
    • Action item
      • Submit HL7 PSS – Richard Esmond, Jay Lyle, Kevin Baskin
      • Oct 4 MDEpiNet Annual Meeting in White Oaks (near DC)
      • Stan is already planning to attend

    • Motion to pull ballot from this cycle – Richard will make sure ballot is officially pulled
      • Moved by Lorraine, seconded by Richard: in favor 14, opposed 0, abstain 0
    • Need to resolve any “missed” comments before the next formal ballot
    • Plan to submit again for January or May ballot cycle
      • Content would be new and enhanced based on everything that we know
    • Lorraine will check on how we get access to any comments already submitted
  • CIMI should give an information webinar about how CIMI fits in HL7 – Lorraine
    • Try for spring or summer
    • We should submit some slides for the general session for San Diego
  • Invitation to the Imaging Information Interoperability Initiative (i4) – Stan
  • How do we organize so that CIMI can scale to facilitate the curation of an increasing body of models that might be generated from the CIIC work
    • Processes are being defined for KNARTs that may be very helpful
    • We should have a process for how we refer people if we have funding and require resources to do the modeling
      • There is a related process already for HL7 Tooling group
    • Susan and Richard are writing a guide for how domain experts request new content
    • Bruce Bray and Susan will talk about how the work might be unified between the VA and what Susan and Richard are doing. We also want to talk about the process with CIC (Anita, Abdul Malik Shakir).
