IDMP Ballot Clean Up

  • The following text is the proposed resolution of the outstanding negatives:

The IDMP Ballot of May 2012 was the final round in balloting 5 standards

11238 JIC Health Informatics – Identification of Medicinal Products – Data elements and structures for unique identification and exchange of regulated information on substances, Release 1

11615 JIC Health Informatics – Identification of Medicinal Products – Data elements and structures for unique identification and exchange of regulated medicinal product information, Release 1

11616 JIC Health Informatics – Identification of Medicinal Products – Data elements and structures for unique identification and exchange of regulated pharmaceutical product information, Release 1

11239 JIC Health Informatics – Identification of Medicinal Products –Data elements and structures for unique identification and exchange of regulated information on pharmaceutical dose forms, units of presentation and routes of administration, Release 1

11240 JIC Health Informatics – Identification of Medicinal Products –Data elements and structures for unique identification of Units of Measurement, Release 1

For 11238, 11615, 11616 and 11240 the only ballot spreadsheet submissions received were affirmative except for a single negative that referred to the EMA’s document submitted only to the ISO process. For 11239 there were 3 negative minor comments which were all wording changes.

The ISO ballot was for final release at which no substantive changes can or were made. The only changes made being typographic and formatting changes and some non-substantive rewording.

All ballot resolution was done through the ISO process rather than the HL7 process and the final Standards were published through ISO in November 2012. The final step of posting ballot resolution and requesting withdrawal of negatives was missed from the HL7 side.

Pharmacy WG is the HL7 “owner” of these projects.

Because the ballot resolution was done through ISO rather than HL7 and noting that all the negative votes were against minor wording changes Pharmacy WG has now accepted (Minutes of conference call 24 June 2013) that ballot resolution is complete and that this document is the record of that ballot resolution.

Motion: Pharmacy WG accepts this resolution wording. Proposed John Hatem, Seconded Julie James, For 3, Against 0, Abstain 0
Motion: The IDMP material should now be submitted for publication in a normative edition. Proposed Julie James Seconded Melva Peters, For 4, Against 0, Abstain 0
